Grumpy Turns To Joy

My husband and I were running errands the other day. What had started out as just a couple of errands had turned into a trip to the doctor and the lab, and a few more stops than we had first expected.
Out of the blue, we decided to stop for lunch. We chose a place that we do not normally go to. However, it was convenient at that moment and we wanted something different.
Mostly however, we were just plain tired. And a bit stressed. And, might I add, grumpy.
Shortly after being seated at our table, we were looking at our menus when, for no particular reason, I looked up. And there, climbing up the stairs into our section of the restaurant, looking straight at me, was a friend of mine that I had not seen for a couple of years or so.
With a big smile on her face, she came running over to me and gave me a huge hug. She told us that she had moved out of state months ago and had just come back to town to visit. She was only going to be here for a short time.
I only had a few minutes with her but I would not have seen her at all if we had not chosen this place to eat, at this moment in time.
That is a pretty awesome God-incidence all by itself, but that was not all.
Recently I had been thinking that I needed to add some more scripture verses to the audio lectio divina page on my website. I have not added anything new in a while. My friend told me how much my lectio divina had helped her in making her move. It had given her comfort and strength.
Amazing how God does this stuff huh?
What had started out as a stressful busy day turned into a nice surprise.
And it completely changed my mood: from grumpy … into a better shade of joy.

  1. Blessed be God. He knows what we need.
